With the passing of Mac George, his wife asked me to help her sell his DeSoto. I thought maybe listing it here would be a good idea. I know this car as I owned it at one time myself many years ago. I bought the car in Edgefield, SC, where I believe it had been located all of it's life. The car was in pretty descent condition and made a good local driver at the time. Mac bought the car from me a few years later and restored the car back to it's original glory. I would say the car is currently a strong #2 automobile condition wise. This car has a black roof, green body and white sweep. It was a bit of an odd ball because Coronado's usually came fully loaded for the most part but this car was special ordered with almost none of that optional equipment. Of course it has the tri-tone paint and the leather interior which was standard on the Coronado models. I have not seen the car in a couple of years, but it was beautiful when I saw it last. With less than 500 produced, it is a rare car indeed. I do not have any photos of this car at this time, but I am sure Mac's wife does. I will see if I can get a few to post. Asking price is $20,000.

If you are interested in the car, just email me at desotodean@gmail.com and I will provide you with contact information.

Here is a photo of Mac's Coronado from the July 2012 Convention in Chattanooga, TN. It's a sweet looking car. Also attached is a photo of the new trunk liner Mac had installed. He shared the photo as he found material very close to the original liner pattern.

Thanks Mark for posting the pics. I couldn't believe I didn't have any myself.

That trunk liner was produced by Marty Lum some years ago. He had a limitied supply remade and I bought his last set for use in my Dolphin Blue '55 DeSoto that I had, but when Mac purchased the Coronado from me he wanted to buy the trunk set as well.... so I sold it to him. It was suppose to be about as close to original as you could/can get.

His wife will eventually be sending me some photos as well, and I will post them when I get them.

Dean

Sorry this took so long. Mac's wife was having a bit of an issue getting me the pictures. I now have a ton of them but will post some here for you to see the car.

Dean -

What you may want to do is create an album on a photo sharing service, such as picasa, flickr, etc. Then post the link here.

An advantage to doing this is that if someone contacts you about the car, you can email them the link directly. Also, larger pictures.

Ron,

Thanks for the idea. I might just do that. If you click on these photos they should blow up to almost full screen size!
