Unregistered users may browse the website, but in order to participate in the forums and view select pages (such as "Club Contacts" and "Classified Ads") a user account is required. Click HERE to email the webmaster and request a free account. The National DeSoto Club uses real names rather than pseudonyms. Notify the webmaster of your user name preference (Johnathon Doe vs. John Doe, etc.), preferred email address, and password request.
Today I received an email that looked very official from webmaster@desoto.org (that's me!) that informed me that a request to change my password had been received.
I think it's phishing. My ability to log in as the admin indicates that the number of attempts to log in has been exceeded.
I'm posting this as a reminder to everybody to be very cautious when dealing with any unsolicited emails with innocent looking links in them.
As webmaster, I am not sending out notices to people to change their passwords. If you receive an email similar to what I just received, I suggest you contact me directly at stellarrestorations@gmail.com so that we can get any issues sorted out. I'll attach an image of the email below.
Thanks for the info - will be on the lookout from now on. So far all the messages I have received have been legit and hope it stays that way.
