Rick, where do I do these from? Call me blind but I do not see this feature anymore.
Also, the password thing is annoying. I have to enter it every time I reply. Can this be fixed? I asked about this right after the rollout of the new site and it was NO, but you have the username come up now. So ...
Private messaging was turned off when we rebuilt the site because I was not aware that anyone was using it. It's back on now. You should see a "# new messages" link up next to your name in this window (not the navigation bar on the left). Clicking that link will take you to private messaging.
I don't get prompted to enter my password on the message board once I'm logged into the site. I'm using Firefox 3.6.15. I've also tested with Internet Explorer 8.0.6 and didn't have an issue. If you are using something other than that, post what you are using and I will see if I can test with that. Make sure you include the exact browser version. This can be found by clicking Help -> About in your menu bar.
Rick, I do not see this link. I am on Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385 and using 64 bit Windows 7.
Thanks Rick for posting the picture of the screen. I regularly access the website from at least three different computer, all with varying versions of MS software (XP, Vista, W7) and versions of Explorer. Regardless of the computer, when I use the "logout" to the left of the messages area that you have encircled, I am not logged out and returned to the "Home" screen. I am logged out and returned to "Home" when I use the log out on the left control panel. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks for your input.
If you use the logout link next to the new messages link, that just logs you out of the message board, not the whole site.
The correct way to log out is to use the log out link on the left hand menu bar.
Removing the logout link from the message board would require recoding part of the message board which would make applying security updates to the site far more difficult.
Rick, I recently updated to Windows 7 and I do not see anything like what you showed me twice already to see my Private Messages. I never was good at noticing these but I have become more aware of them AND then they are gone.
Paul I sent you a "test" PM several days ago. I'm surprised you don't have an indication of "1 new messages" up in the upper left corner of your screen.
I see the message is still in my "outbox", so that confirms you haven't seen it, I suppose!
It's supposed to be fun!

Tim and Rick, there is no indication of any ability to do Private Messages_ PERIOD.
I get the same thing when I go to the index page, nothing showing about PM's. Then I log on and it pops right up, so try logging on and see if the PM's magically appear.
Have a nice day
Steve
Thank you Steve. The LogIn does the trick. I see the PM message now.
