Hello everyone:
My name is Wayne Romans, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I just joined the club and have recently purchased a beautiful 57 Firedome. The interior was redone a few years ago, but I'm not sure if it is the same as original. I would love to have pictures of an original interior, so that I can compare them to my car and correct any area's that are not correct.
I can be reached at cwromans@nncweb.ca
I look forward to becoming involved in the club's activities.
Any help or suggestions as to where I can locate this info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Wayne
Hello Wayne, welcome to the Club! Along the left hand margin you will find a link for "Resources". There, you will find the following links:
1) Barrett Taft is the Club Librarian. The Club has a variety of resources that would show original interior patterns including a few original color and upholstery albums.
2) Look for contact info for the '57 Model Year coordinator Ed Petrus. Ed knows more about '57 DeSotos than anyone. He has his own website for '57's and is a wealth of knowledge about that model year in particular.
Good luck,
Mark
Welcome, Wayne, from a fellow Canuck and '57 owner (Firesweep).
Nice place and people in Nova Scotia.
There's lots of great info to be had from the fine folks here at the NDC. As mentioned, Ed Petrus has an info site just for us spoiled '57 owners: http://www.angelfire.com/de/petrus/index.html - there's many photos there of paint chips and interiors, along with the related codes.
I have a '57 DeSoto dealer's paint/upholstery book if that helps in any way.
Have you posted a photo of your car yet in the photo gallery?
Enjoy your great car!
Hey Wayne,
Just a thought, but if you haven't gotten the help you were seeking yet, perhaps you could post a few pics of the interior (and exterior) of your car here on the site. That way, if any '57 experts are on they can tell you what they see.
Anyway, good luck with that car and I hope to see it one day.
