Thought I was done with rebuilding brakes but found leaking junction block next morning. Looks like I've overtightened stoplight pressure switch and cracked it...

This is a 3-port brass block attached to the bracket located on the inside of the driver side frame rail next to the rear axle. It connects brake lines with stop light switch.

Does anyone have a spare block for sale? Or know where I can get a suitable reproduction? Or know the part number (can't find it in my book)? It's for my 1950 but I believe this part was used on other years as well.

Or would it be better to run new line to bypass pressure activated switch and to install mechanical stop light switch instead?

Thank you,
- Igor.

You could silver-solder that one back up......

It's supposed to be fun!

OK, I had a look at my DeSoto parts book and the TEE you are looking for may be part number 1313-083. This is the stop light switch tee.

If I am not mistaken you can find this part on EBAY too, but these may just be the TEE with nothing else, no mounts if they are needed.

Tim and Darin, thank you guys for the advise and information!

Last week I had two house plumbing emergencies in a row and had plenty of practice in sweat connections, so I followed Tim's advise and soldered broken tee. Already put everything back together and bled the system - so far no leaks, hope I won't find any in the next couple of days.
I've also ordered a new one from Len Dawson (http://www.dpmotorparts.com) - at $14 I can keep one as a spare (it hasn't arrived yet so I don't know if it comes with or without bracket).

Thanks again,
- Igor.
