Does anyone know or have any idea what size carb the factory 4 barrel would be on a 55 DeSoto?

Ryan,

The four barrels were only on the Fireflite (S-21) models in 1955. These were Carter carburetors and were tagged with 2210S on the brass tag. An internet search for WCFB 2210S Carter four barrel carburetor may provide the information you need.

Ryan

The Carter Number 22105 will show you that all four ports are the same
diameter and the CFM's is near 390.

Let it be known that you are seeking one and you may find one in July at
Fort Wayne during The Annual De Soto Club's Convention.

Note: The Air Cleaner will need to fit and the linkage needs to have its
correct movement.

Ryan,

The '55 shop manual has plenty of detail about the 4-barrel carb. There is a page full of specs, too much to copy here. What information exactly do you need to know?

1955 Firedome S-22

Standard Transmission 2176-SA

Overdrive Transmission 2177S-SA

Power Flight Transmission 2178S-SA

Use 2176A to replace 2176S-SA (remove dashpot)
Use 2178SA with part number 192-34U and adjust to replace 2177S-SA-(remove dashpot).

This info is from the Carter Master Parts book 1955.
