Hello everyone! The following link will take you directly to the pet-friendly Comfort Inn in Chatham (particularly if you're looking for king beds), and is located straight down the road from the host hotel Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Alternatively, you can call 519-352-5500; simply remember to quote the "National DeSoto Club" to receive your specially-discounted rate of $132 CAD/night excluding fees and taxes, and this price does include your breakfast! However you choose to make your hotel accommodations, my father Don and I are looking forward to meeting you in the Classic Car Capital of Canada! 😊
Hello again, everyone! Please find attached a list of various venues for you to contemplate visiting that are apart from the planned convention itinerary during your stay in the Chatham-Kent area. Hope to see you soon in Chatham, Ontario! 😀
Happy Friday evening, DeSoto aficionados! It's June 16th, and I wanted to remind everyone of 2 noteworthy items with the fast-approaching 37th Annual National DeSoto Club Convention in Chatham, Ontario that's ONLY 6 weeks away! The first registration cut-off date of June 19th is this coming Monday, before or on which your form must be post-marked to avoid paying the higher registration fee of $59 USD from the regular $49 USD. In addition, the hotel cut-off date of Monday, June 26th is a week after, at which point the specially-discounted rate of $129 CAD will end and any remaining rooms in the reserved block will be released to the public. Keep those registrations and reservations coming!
Hello, DeSoto friends and colleagues! I've recently been informed that club members who are coming to Chatham for the annual convention towards the end of July and have phone plans with either AT&T or Verizon are treated the same when they're in Canada. In other words, both companies consider all of North America in the same manner as far as their customers' plans are concerned! 😀
@kevin-stiles I am still planning to call Verizon just to be sure our specific account is covered. I'll report back here (hopefully confirming what you posted) when I do.
Hello, everyone! We're in the final hours of the last day to take advantage of the upcoming Canadian convention's discounted hotel rate before it's no longer offered as of tomorrow, Monday, June 26th. Book now, and SAVE! Can't believe it's almost here! See you in Chatham, Ontario in a month! 😀
I received an email from Canadian member Lee Fair offering to assist and caravan through the Niagara Falls / Buffalo crossing. If any members are interested in this, please contact Lee directly or email the editor (me) and I'll forward it on to Lee. He is a new member (let's be sure to make him feel welcome at the convention!), so his contact info is in the March-April issue under "New Members".
I called Verizon today and they confirmed that for anywhere in North America, it's unlimited talk and text, regardless of whether it's US to Canada, Canada to US, or Canada to Canada. The only limitation, at least for my plan, is 1/2 Gb data per day if not connected to wifi.
Hello, Chatham-bound members! The question has come up regarding in which currency will bidding on our auctions be happening? The answer is all bids will be conducted in Canadian dollars (giving US members more bang for their buck 😉), and winning bids can be paid for by using either a credit card, Canadian or US cash. 🙂 Ten days to go!! 😀 👍
