I saw these yesterday on the Muncie In. Craigslist. The blue one runs and drives pink is a parts car both have swivel seats. The seller wanted $25000 and $3000 for them.
I was tempted to send them a picture of Dane Sharp's car as an example of what $20000 could buy, but the ad is already off. Lets hope they resurface at a more reasonable price.
So are they Fireflites, Firedomes, or Firesweeps? (Sportsman just means that they are hardtops. If there's no script showing that they are Fireflites or Firedomes, then they are probably both Firesweeps.)

I know it makes a difference what model they are but at those prices the model is irrelevant. Looking at the pics I think it is one of two things. They have mistakingly added a zero on each price or it comes with $22,500 worth of gold bars in the trunk.
Good point, Les!

This is the verbiage in the ad:
Vehicle M-451 102171. This car is one of about 600 ever made. I have been told that this is a very rare car; it was supposedly the highest H.P. car in 1959. The engine is an Adventurer 383, 350 H.P. with two 4-barrel carburetors from the factory; I have the air breathers, they just are not on the engine in the pics. I am not sure if it will run. It is a 2-door, hardtop. There is some rust, but it is solid and body is in good condition. The title is clear. I have an extra transmission and bumper. As far as I know, the only thing missing is the chrome strips on the trunk. It has electric windows and seats. The front seats swivel. My father had a car like this when I was a kid. This is a beautiful car when it is restored. Make an offer. I also have another Desoto that would be good for parts, it is the white car pic. I am asking $ 3,000 firm for it.
Maybe one of the '59 afficianados can decipeher that vehicle number? As the photos and description tell and say, the car is equipped with dual fours but the intake and carbs look very new compared to the rest of the car.
M451 confirms that the car is a 1959 Desoto Fireflite made in Detroit (Jefferson)
Their were 602 Adventurer 2 door hardtops made.
The car is advertised as having an Adventurer engine
It appears the seller is mixing the Adventurer model production with an Adventurer engine in a Flite
Hey, All-
The parts car appears to be a Firesweep- no script and a shorter front fender.
