This 1956 DeSoto Fireflite 4-door sedan is a good running car. I am the third owner (though the second owner only had it for a short time). Here are the details:
- 330 Hemi engine
- Push-button 2-speed automatic Powerflite transmission
- Power brakes
- Power steering
- "Forward Look" design by Virgil Exner
- Two-tone sage and white paint
- Clean title
- Rebuilt drum brakes in excellent condition
- Rebuilt carburetor
- Radiator recently repaired
Car is in overall decent condition with some dings in chrome and some paint flaking in places. It has the typical small rust spots behind the back wheels. It's a comfortable driver with classy looks. The back of the headliner needs to be repaired. The cloth on the seats has a few holes (vinyl parts are great), but I have some pretty awesome vintage NOS seat covers to go on it.
The car has radial tires on it, but I'm also including a set of bias-ply wide whites with it. All the trim is all there, the dome light lens is the only missing piece.
This car could be restored or you could just go ahead and drive it and have fun! We've taken it to car shows, driven it around town, and really enjoyed talking to people about it. I'm selling because I have two DeSotos, but only have room for one. I'm asking $6850 on Craigslist, but negotiable for a good home, especially if it's a DeSoto person!
