Wow, that's quite the transformation and I can't wait to see the final results! What's the name of the color?

I hope you'll consider sending in some photos and a story of your journey for the magazine when it's completed! Incidentally, your first regular issue you'll receive (July-August) features the 1935 DeSotos, so I think you'll particularly enjoy this one.

Hey Glenda....heck of a story there, and a family owned car to boot! Not sure where you call home though club members would love to see your restored car make its debut at next year's 40th annual NDC convention in Louisville, KY. Hope you can make it!

@davidfrank Thank you!  The color is Subaru Jasper Green (think of the Subaru dog commercials from a few years ago). I absolutely would love to tell her story!  As a matter of fact, I’ve already begun, just need to get some final details from the car restorer (who is an absolute artist)  to fill in the mechanical details and I’m hoping to have the car ready at the beginning of September.  The car just looks amazing and it is such a dream come true for me to see her running as I have seen that car my entire life, but never once seen it running.  But that is about to change, haha!

@markkubancik We’re going to try, but the two conventions with the Airflow Club of America and the National Desoto club overlap with you guys having your Nat’l convention June 17-21, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky, while the Airflow Club of America has their Nat’l Convention in Helena, MT on June 21-26th, 2026.  But somehow, we’re going to try to get across the country for both.    I know our car was a marvel of engineering in her day, but not quite sure she’s up to that, lol. Still, we want to do both, so somehow we’re going to manage it.

@glendawilburn As you plan your travels next year and make your choice between the two meets, just remember that our meet will be more fun 😉

Hey, Glenda-

Congrats not only on keeping the car in the family, but on getting her up and running.  You will receive great pleasure taking her out for a drive for all to see.

Glenn.
