Hello all -
I recently purchased this 1938 DeSoto 6 Sedan and just joined the club. I'm looking forward to all the helpful discussions and fun photos. I'm also hoping to find out any historical information on my car (of which I have essentially none) if perhaps a previous owner was a member of this club or anyone knew of this car. I purchased it from a dealer who got it at an auction in January. The dealer provided no information but I was able to track down the pervious owner by contacting the North Dakota DMV (based on the license plates). His name is Jarvis York but he only had the car for a few years and purchased it "from a man in Oregon" but does not have his name or contact info anymore. I would love to be able to find out about the restoration of the car, any previous owners, any historical stories, etc, but am hitting dead ends. The serial number is 5630566 and the engine / chassis number is S534694. I have requested a build sheet from Chrysler Historical Services but waiting on that. Anyway, in the meantime, here is my beauty!
