Further to the busted fuel gage on my 12v ‘55 Fireflite... I’ve checked the ground on my gage and sending unit, and also verified continuity on the sending unit wire. At this point I’m assuming either both gage and sending unit are fried from the higher voltage, or just one or the other needs replacing. I’m hoping it’s just the gage, because I’d rather not try to remove the sending unit (special tool Required and gas fumes). Does anyone have an opinion as to the impact of the higher voltage on the sending unit, or how I might test it in the tank without a working fuel gage? I’ve also ordered a voltage reducer (runtz).
