The spring in the driver’s door Striker Door Plate on my 1955 Fireflite has broken. Anyone have a left door plate fron a 55 or 56 available? I’m assuming the 56 is the same ( though not sure), and that the left rear door striker is interchangeable.

I don't have a parts book in front of me at the moment to confirm, but my recollection is that the '55 latch mechanisms are different than the '56 models and there is also a possibility a 4 door rear striker is different than a 2 door or a 4 door front. Do you have a photo of yours? I seem to recall that the body-mounted striker plate on my '56 2 door is just a metal plate with no spring or mechanism - the moving parts are all on the door piece.
