I have had my DeSoto since I was 16 in 1989. Took me several years to restore. Been driving it ever since. I want to give it some Christmas presents this year for being such an awesome part of the family. Here is my DeSoto's Christmas list: drivers side door handle, passenger side front fender "hockey stick" sweep piece, trunk handle, driver door rear view mirror, wiper arm mounts, passenger side lower grill chrome "y-shaped piece". And if possible the plastic medallion below the hood ornament. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Congratulations on finishing it! I'll bet it feels good to be driving it around after all that time! I hope you'll consider submitting an article at some point with the story of how you got your car and the restoration process.
I know you contacted my dad already for parts and I think he may be able to help with a couple of those items. In addition, you can place a free "Parts Wanted" ad in the magazine as a member (instructions are on the page preceding the ads) and that will reach the full club audience.
Hello Thomas! Beautiful Firedome hardtop! I'm the '55 model year tech advisor for the club. Rather than typing a long message, please contact me via phone and we can discuss your needs. You should be able to find my contact info on this website or in the DeSoto Adventures magazine. Looking forward to talking with you.
