The '56 Seville needs a bumper jack. There's one on ebay right now all restored and ready to go, but I want him to accept a more reasonable offer, since he's offered that option on his auction.
However, he says it came out of a '55 Chrysler. I can't find a section in the '55/'56 Master parts book that even lists a bumper jack application.
Before I pull the trigger on making an offer to the ebay seller, can anybody confirm that I even want a jack that came out of a '55 Chrysler to use on a '56 DeSoto?
It's supposed to be fun!

Tim,
Like you I surprisingly discovered that just about everything on the '55 & '56 DeSoto has a part number - including wheel weights - but not the bumper jack. You would almost have to find a verified original '56 and photograph its bumper jack to compare to the one on eBay to be certain.
Thanks for your response on the window rubber.
Mark
Could it be that Chrysler made one jack that fit ALL the models of their entire line? It would seem a bit crazy to have a model specific jack when they were pretty much all the same, doing the same job.
Besides who's to tell...I know i wouldn't know the difference.
Chris
If there's an original 56 around, maybe that would be a help. Or if there's a fully restored 56 Adventurer nearby, you may be able to look in the trunk of that car.
