Bought this old 35 mm slide on eBay and a co-worker converted it to digital format. I bought it for the '55 Firedome Sportsman in the foreground but was intrigued because there was not only that DeSoto in the photo but also the '57 Firesweep Sportsman in the background. The photo was taken in the summer of '59 which explains the then-new '59 Chevy behind the '55 DeSoto. Where are they now? The cars...the kids, probably in their sixties by now if still living.

This 55 appears to have the paint code 426 which is a Surf White body with a Jamaica Bronze top and sweep. I have never seen this color combination before, but it is striking. There is a 55 Fireflite Sportsman being auctioned now on ebay which started out with this color combination according to the body tag but which now is being described as Shell pink and Surf White. I believe this car belonged to a deceased NDC member who changed the color. Here is a link to this auction:
