I visited the AACA Library at their Headquarters in Hershey PA today
In the lobby were some things of interest
They had Dealership Lighted Color and Upholstery cases for the 58 Chrysler, the 59 Plymouth and 59 Dodge. Each had the sketch of the car and the various slides that showed the color combinations and interiors available. Over the years I have seen similar cases for the 61 Plymouths and 61 Dodges. Was there such a thing for Desotos in that era?
On the wall in the lobby was a limited edition painting featuring the back end of a pink 59 Desoto Sportsman on the left side and the reflection of the rear of a 56 Adventurer on the right side. The artist was Dan McCray. Has anyone heard of the artist or this work?
Bob asked me to post the attached photos to this thread. Dean Mullinax weighed in on the photo showing DeSotos reflected in a DeSoto as follows:
Hey guys, the cars in the first picture belong to members that were in the Carolina Chapter. The gold and white 1956 DeSoto Adventurer reflecting in the paint of the 1935 Airflow belongs to Phil Rast. The pink 59 belongs to Bob Lynch and the dark green Airflow flow belongs to Raymond Banner. There is a blue 59 in front of Phil Rast car that belongs to either Barrett Taft or Jay Wilhelm. I don't know about the other two paintings but I will check to see if anyone else does.
Phil says that an artist came by and took photos of the cars and decided to use some of the photos for paintings.
