Just saw this on our local news. Bullitt County is just south of metro Louisville, KY. I'm sure the owner of the car would appreciate any leads as to the whereabouts of the DeSoto.

Pricey items stolen from Bullitt County storage unit
Tuesday, November 29th 2016, 2:07 pm EST
BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Police are asking for the public's help identifying people suspected of stealing items from a storage unit in Bullitt County.

A 1952 DeSoto race car, a 4-wheeler, a dirt bike, RVs and trailers were taken from Wee Stor-It Storage earlier this month. The storage business is located at 5089 North Preston Highway in Pioneer Village.

The thefts happened between the dates of November 18 and 20, from midnight to 5 a.m., according to police.

The suspects are believed to have used the same pass code to enter the facility during the thefts.

Investigators have released photos of the items taken, as well as surveillance video of the suspects.

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Pioneer Village Police at (502) 957-6548 or the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office at (502) 543-2514.

Good news!

Stolen vintage car found
Updated: 5:20 PM EST Dec 2, 2016

BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. —

A Bullitt County man is getting back his vintage car.

Veteran offers $1,000 reward after vintage car stolen

Eric Hester believes a story WLKY did on the storage facility thefts Wednesday helped police locate his 1952 DeSoto.

“I really think that's really what made a difference in bringing it home,” Hester said.

The 1952 DeSoto was stolen from a storage facility last month in Pioneer Village.

The car is Hester's pride and joy. He and his friends rebuilt the car in 1996.

It was found several miles away, in a rural area of Bullitt County, off Prior Valley Road. Chief D.J. Reynolds with Pioneer Village police said the car was under a tarp. The chief said he has two people of interest in the case.

Hester’s 1952 DeSoto was waiting for him at the police department, minus the radiator and a few other parts.

According to Reynolds, the thieves were planning to strip the car Thursday evening and then "Burn it to the ground."

Hester said he's relieved that didn't happen.

“It's an awesome Christmas, yes it is,” Hester said.

Reynolds said a tip led them to Hester's car and the truck used to haul it away.

They are still searching for the rest of the stolen property.

Authorities said several arrests are expected.
