Hi all,
I need someone with a 1953 master parts book to do a little sleuthing.
Can you look and see if the part numbers for the frame on the Desoto Suburban Sedan (not wagon) are the same as the Desoto Limo for 1953?
Also, for the Limo can you tell me what the lower and upper control arm part numbers are? I want to check them against 1946-1948.

I ran across an all there but very dead 1953 limo.

As far as I know the Desoto Suburban Sedans all had the same main center body shell from 1946 to 1953/54 when they stopped making them. They changed the rear body contour and changed the front and rear fenders...but the main body was the same.

What I am thinking is taking the body of my 1947 Desoto Suburban and transplanting it to the 1953 running gear.If it looks like it will bolt down without too much extra work.
I do realize I will have to modify the inner front fenders and the like. But this would give me a V8 and an automatic for the proposed mission of USA road trips and keep it all Desoto!

I will be seeing the thing this week and will be taking photos and lots of measurements. If the factory used the same floor pan and firewall and the main body mounts line up, this may be a possibility.
Thanks for the help, James.
