I'm looking for a set of 2 front seat spacers for our 59 Firesweep. they are 1/2" thick rubber pads with 4 holes in each pad .They fit between the seat brackets 7 floor. MoPar pt .#183903. Thanks ahead.
Hi Ron,
Unless you want, or must have, the correct OE part number, these can be made fairly easily from belt material, work every bit as well, and nobody but you will know the difference as they are practically invisible.
I even cut black plastic "shims" that run the length of the track front to rear the thickness that takes up all of the bolt length except for the nut, and now I sit up nice and high and still have plenty of headroom. Even they are hardly visible unless you look specifically for them. No one who has seen my '59 Firesweep has noticed them or said anything if they did and this is with blue carpeting. If your carpet or mat is black - even better.
Good luck,
Fred

Fred,
Excellent advice! I did have to think for a minute when you said to use "belt material". I was thinking of the belt around my waist but assume you mean conveyor belt material, correct?
Mark
Hey guys,
Yes, I should have been more descriptive on the type of "belt". Having been in the power transmission business for over 30 years, I just mistakenly took for granted that everyone would know that I was referring to conveyor belting. Sorry about that, but conveyor belting should work perfectly and there are plenty of choices of types and thicknesses to choose from.

Thanks Fred. Did you put the spacers under all 4 legs? My parts book shows them under the front leg's only. Thanks for responding guys.
Yes Ron, I put spacers under all four and retained the two front "rubber" factory units. I only added the others to raise the seat so I wouldn't feel like I'm sitting on the floor. I'm guessing the seat is about 3/4 inch or so higher than it was.
