Hello I am a new member, this is the first time that I participate in a forum.
I have a problem getting my DeSoto S5 registered because they cannot determine that the vehicle identification number actually belongs to the car. Is there a possibility to match the Body number to the vehicle identification number?
If yes can someone help me.

You didn't say what year your car is but if it's in the model range from 1946 - 1948, contact Les Pesavento at lesterpes@gmail.com or 586-945-5105.  He maybe able to help or would know who would be the best source.

Sometimes the body number is on the data plate and the data plate sometimes has the serial number, or part of the serial number, on it. Depending on the year, you may be able to connect the two that way. Also, FCA (Fiat Chrysler) historical will send you a copy of the build card at no charge. Sometimes those have stampings not found on the car's data tag, such as the motor number. FCA can be contacted via email at danielle.szostak@fcagroup.com. You'll have to prove you own the car to get your build card copy.
