DeSoto Club Members,

I am experiencing the same upshift issues as many of you have on my 49 1st series S11 that has been described in various posts. It started as an intermittent problem that became permanent. I have decided to start by draining the tranny and putting fresh 10w in it. Many other posts and the manual refers to a strainer as it has corrected this problem for other DeSoto owners. However, I cannot find it anywhere near the tranny. Does anyone have pics or a better a description of the location as the manual is pretty vague.

Should be located down low on the left rear of the case. There is an oblong plate held on by 2 bolts. It's behind that. Sorry, no picture.

Thanks Tim! I found it. I was looking on the opposite side of the tranny. Sucker was clogged big time. Appreciate the help!
