Great work Bernie. It's really nice to see the progress - I wish I had your talent.

I believe it’s all about patience and time. 1 step forward and 2 steps back, that’s usually how it goes lol ????. Besides, keeping it a hobby makes it fun even though at times it can be frustrating for sure.

Temporary fix to my seats that are shot to hell. Need to sell one of my other cars this spring to free up money for upholstery carpet and headliner, but for now at least I can drive it. The shelf in the rear window with the DeSoto emblem was also ruined in the sun, so I made up a custom logo and bought some vinyl which I'm happy with including new speakers front and rear.

Question; Looks like my passenger door was off in the past while repairing the right front fender, and during the process they ripped off the hinge (see photos). I have a spare on my parts car and was wondering if 2dht vs 4dht hinge would make a difference? Also, is it welded on from the inside as I can't feel any screws/bolts on the inside? If so what's the fix, weld it on the outside instead since it is inaccessible from the inside?

@alsmith I'll repair it one way or another, just seeing what's the best way to do it

Neat air cleaner. Are you using a peritronix ignition module?
No I purchased a Proform Electronic Ignition Distributor Kit that Fits Mopar Chrysler BB 361 383 400. Working great so I'm happy with it ???? . The air cleaner was missing on the car, so I figured I'd make something out of these '61-'62 Thunderbird hubcaps that I found at a friend's shop. Very similar to the '59 DeSoto's original hubcaps, so it'll be a cool match ????

Really looking good Bernie, a little at a time and it sure adds up. It's hard to believe all the progress in a relatively short period of time.

Thanks Fred, when you first get going it's hard to stop, always thinking about what's next? Now on to a cracked exhaust manifold, luckily my parts car has a good one but it'll be a pain getting them off for sure ????
