Nice one Jan Frank. I have a 54 Firedome coupe i brought back from California to Australia. Its not easy finding parts or any one who knows much about the 54s around. Keep in touch maybe we can share some of what we find.
What codes do you have on your build plate on the firewall?

Thank you very kindly for taking the time in posting your photos. In fact, it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words.

So ok it's been awhile since I updated !!
Hi Peter, you live in the netherlands? if so I don't know you from the dutch forum do I?? Maybe a different name? Good too know, there are indeed a couple more Dutch guys I know who have a DeSoto.
Last time I updated the sunvisor was there for trial fitting, made a lot of effort in the brackets, did them twice before satisfied with the them
First attempt, looked good but after welding it was scrapped
Second time I made a more beefy bracket, well happy with the outcome
And after a DIY patina paintjob they are on
Lots more been done in the mean while
8ball shifter
Allso had an old toolbox from highschool, 20odd years ago, friend of mine pinstriped it.
And now in the middle of converting too 12Volts. Wasn't planning on going 12volt but after seeing some other rides with "low" suspension I wanted a airride system too.Maybe it's not everyones cup of tea, but hey I like it
Bit of photshop and this is the look I'm going for
Very cool!
It's supposed to be fun!

Jan Frank,
On what forum are you referring to
I am indeed not active on this forums because i do not know
on which desoto owners are active.
I think there are several american car clubs in the Netherlands

Thnx Tim
@ Peter,
The forum i'm refering to is the Pre66 forum http://www.pre66.com/site/viewforum.php?f=11 in the Netherlands.
Lot of good craftsman on there, and a couple DeSoto drivers/owners. There is allso one who has a '49 too, coupé not a softtop like yours. But the technique will not be far of I think?
