I grew up riding in this car to school every morning and we always got great comments (like "nice batmobile"). I LOVE it! But my father is a retired missionary and he is needing the money more than the car. Can anyone help me figure out what this car is worth and where to sell it? I posted some pictures in the photo gallery (I think I did it wrong). Thanks for your help!
Robert,
Pictures loaded fine and the car looks to be in excellent condition in and out. How about some particulars including mileage, known history of the car, is it running condition, recent work done, etc. That will help those who wish to speculate on the value better determine that figure.

Robert,
Nice Desoto. For what it's worth, the NADA price guide for a 61 DeSoto is listed here:

Where is this car located? Looks like a SC plate.

Buy it, Mac...
Great looking car
The club is plotting the 1961 production and asks your help.
Please replicate the data plate which is located above the driver's door hinge. It would be painted as the body color and the top line would look similar to 1130 614 30xx 6113 1xxxxx 104 WG2 which we will translate for you
Do you happen to know the name/address of the selling dealer?
Mark,
Thanks for asking... the car was purchased about 12 years ago in CA where it was repainted to match the original paint. My dad drove it from there to BC Canada which was where they were living at the time and then drove it down to SC about 9 years ago. He is not aware of any accidents to the vehicle. He is the 3rd owner, however the 2nd owner never drove it... only garaged it. It has 84K miles. Chrome is all original. The heater core needs to be replaced. The dash is original but is cracked (not sure if you can see that in the pics). This car rolled off the line the same day Desoto announced that they would no longer be producing the car.
My dad reminded me that we also have our first 61 Desoto (the one I grew up with) that has been sitting for some time but still has a lot of great parts... great chrome. I could also send a pic of that. If someone is interested it could be included when we try to sell this as a parts car.
Does this help figuring a price range?
Thanks for your help you all!
