The NDC runs on volunteers, and we need a few more volunteers in order to keep things running. We have a few open positions that need to be filled – and the sooner the better. The most important one of these positions is the Club Store Operator. This person would maintain the store’s inventory, and ship out items when ordered. She/he would stay in touch with the club’s Treasurer to let him know when we’re running low of any items so that we can reorder them. Perhaps the biggest challenge for this position is to attend our annual conventions in order to set up and man a club store area to sell NDC items during the conventions.
Another position is the Club Historian. This person maintains a history of our club and its activities, and answers any questions about our club’s history (although most of the questions will probably be about the history of De Soto cars and not the club).
Also open is the Handbook/Reference Manual Coordinator. This person keeps the club’s handbook/reference manual up to date based on changes resulting from the Trustees’ meetings and Board Packets.
And finally, there’s the Parts Replacement Coordinator. This person takes on the task of finding someone, or some company(ies), to replicate at a reasonable cost replacement parts that are in high demand but hard to find – steering wheels, hood ornaments, etc. The club’s Trustees would have to approve in advance the items that are going to be remade.
Of course, you do have to be an NDC member in order to hold any of these positions.
If you’re interested in doing any of the above, or would like additional information about any of the above, please send a private e-mail to me at nobledesoto@ameritech.net, or feel free to contact any of the other NDC Trustees about these positions. Thank you.
