Not familiar with forums. Hope this appropriate. Attending the convention has gotten us fired up. We are actively searching for a 1940 Custom coupe to keep our 1940 Custom sedan company. Any one have/know of any available for sale? We'd like original, drivable condition. Thanks so much!
One option you might consider is to use the club's roster and contact club owners of '40 coupes and make your interest known. At least they would have some knowledge of someone interested in a car like theirs. I hear many people say that they don't know what will become of their cars as their children don't have any interest.
An ad in the DeSoto Adventures Magazine would be a good idea, as well.
It's supposed to be fun!

Thanks, Tim. Great idea! We'll start scouring the roster.
Try using http://www.searchtempest.com . It will scour through Craigslist for a radius as far as you tell it. I know they're not a coupe but I found these in only a few minutes....

Thank you, Dan! We always said " wouldn't it be great if we could search all the craigslists at once".
I posted your interest over on the NDC Facebook page, as well. You never know what might turn up!

Super! Didn't even know there was an NDC Facebook page! I'm headed there now - I'm sure we'll "like" it!
Dan Lyman,
Perhaps you can provide a short tutorial for Search Tempest. I've fooled around with it and seem to get either too many or too few ads. Without modifying preferences it shows you eBay and a host of other ads. Try and refine it and I seem to only get a handful of ads. Not the easiest site to use compared to others, but perhaps you can offer some advice.
Jack...sorry to hijack your thread!
Mark
I'm with you, Mark. Had trouble using tempest also, but then we're not very technically advanced.
At the top, I simply put in my zip code, underneath it, 'any' miles, in this case "1940 DeSoto," Search. If it asks, I click on "continue to use Search Tempest"
Directly above from where the ePay ad listing starts, is a row of numbers. Directly above that is "More Cities," check the box to "continue searching until 10 results," then click "Next" at the end of the row of numbers (which happen to be the number of expected pages).
With a specific search like '1940 DeSoto' it may go through a bunch of pages before it finds something....
Thanks for the tutorial. We'll play with it a bit.
