The November-December issue of DeSoto Adventures included a great article by John Nosol about the life of Ron Manolio. The article told the story about Ron and Betty Manolio's history with their 1950 DeSoto sedan and the way it became part of the family. Ron was a fixture in the Buckeye Chapter and well known to many in the Club as he was everyone's friend.
Ron's other passion was one not as well known to Club members except for those in northern Ohio who would often see Ron, Betty and family on local TV news programs about this time of year. As the attached article from this Easter Sunday's Cleveland Plain Dealer explains, Ron was an artist in colored egg shells and annually created an elaborate display in his yard in suburban Cleveland. Sadly, this year's display will be the last. As Betty states in the article, their kids just don't seem to have the time to continue the tradition and it's not the same without Ron. Those of us that had the pleasure to know Ron understand that point of view. He will be missed by many.
May you rest in peace, Ron!
