Any body have some extra? Our '55 restoration project is in bad need of a set.

Thanks,

It's supposed to be fun!

Thanks, Mark;

Those would certainly do, especially if we were building another show car.

I was looking for something a little less costly and hopefully just the insulators, as I can get a set of plug wires built at the local NAPA with the old ones for a pattern for quite a bit less.

Seems like I remember some aftermarket rubber insulators out there, and they would likely do. Just have to fall into a set of ceramics or try to find out if I just made up the memory of the rubber ones..........

It's supposed to be fun!

Tim, if those hemi plug wires are correct, I would go after them. The ones on my 53 look different. Somebody would try to get that amount just for the ceramic insulators. I saw the the rubber ones on my 81 BMW 320i. I probably still have the 4 old ones.

Tim,

No lie, I was going to try and make one. Still am, in fact, but wit will probably be a clear one for now.

I carefully measured one and made a 2D diagram. I need a 3D drawing program to render it in 3D for the 3D printers. I figure I might could get them printed for $5 to $10 each.

Also, I have seen them for sale along with 8 spark plug tube washers, probably on ebay.

Here's my 2D drawing. I measured with a plastic caliper, so dimensions may need checking.

Vertex spiro-pro hemi plug boots work well. On the DeSoto you need to trim about a quarter inch of the skinny end of the tube. I just ground them down on the bench grinder. I have used them several times with good results.

Have a nice day
Steve

EUREKA. I thought I lost it but found the business card of the source where I got the hemi plug ends (reproduction and excellent) about 10 years ago. Seems like it was in Canada and had other stuff. A and B Auto Doug phone 440 237 9300
another source might be Al Kavpek @ Valley Vintage 440 355 5990 Let us kbnow if it still works. dave
