With my daughter turning 1, and her walking around more, I cant afford to not have a daily driver car and 2 projects. My Opel runs and moves a little (plus its going to be for my daughters 16th B-day), has some tranny issues but I have a spare tranny so that one doesnt need money, but the desoto does. So the desoto has to go to make room (and pay for!) a family oriented vehicle. I really enjoy this car and hopefully ill buy another one sometime, maybe a hemi next time
But, as a member on here said, its about a $3,000 car, and id much rather have it go to a member or someone who will appreciate it for what it is, and not put 22" rims and make it gay.
You can message me on here, email me at chrisgawelko@gmail.com or you can message me on here to get a cell phone number and you can text me at.
And the wheel cylinder thing is all taken care of, car rolls back and forth great, all the gears work on the shifter and the brakes work now.
ill add my newest photo of it.
Nothing?? Depressing...
I did put a battery in it (12v of course) and the ol Desoto fired right up. Idled great, engine revs up just fine. But the shoes in the back are still too tight. they have a high spot on them and they may need some material shaved off because those pads are THICK!... I just dont have the patience to pull the drum again and deal with it all over again.
Chris
Put it on ebay and see where it goes. You can put a reserve on it, or an opening bid at your lowest sale price. Then it may sell, or if you start low with a reserve, you'll see what folks will give for it.
Good Luck
Steve
I considered doing that, but I have never bought or sold anything on eBay so the odds of someone bidding on a classic car from an unknown seller is unlikely. Plus I dont have the money to pay the ebay fees
BUMP. Dropped to $2,500.
If you haven't already listed it, I'd suggest you put it on Craigslist. It's free, and you'll find a much bigger audience. Or, see the webmaster about putting it in the next issue of the club newsletter.
There's only a small fraction of the actual club membership that checks in on these forums, so you're audience isn't huge if most of your efforts are here.
It's supposed to be fun!

it is on CL, but I get a bunch of tire kickers and spam emails. I have had MANNNYY people come out and look, but then I never hear from them again. And I get BS offers like $2,000 or trade for motorbikes and stuff. motorbikes are not car seat friendly.
Chris
If you spend a little time on the brakes so it can be test driven, you might have better luck selling it. This is not a good time to be selling any collectibles, let alone DeSotos.
Have a nice day
Steve
Yeah I know. its some crap. I just spent 4 hours outside trying to figure it out and I totally give up now.
I will take $2,000 from a club member or club member relative. Just to try and get some more bites
Chris,
As others have stated, only a few members are active on this site, but ALL members get our DeSoto Adventures bi-monthly magazine.
You may want to get your information to Russ Frank, des4us@centurylink.net to get a classified ad incuded in the magazine. If you act quickly, you may be able to get it included in the March/April issue that's currently under construction.
