Is it possible (or advisable) to get a ceramic coating on a DeSoto?

As far as I know, you can ceramic coat on any type of paint. The biggest thing would be to confirm that you can do that on a single-stage original paint job (unless it has been repainted with modern techniques). @mikemccandless has had a number of his cars ceramic coated and may be able to provide some insight on this.
