The 39th annual NDC convention will be held June 25-29, 2025 in Akron, Ohio with Craig and Chris Lane and the Buckeye chapter as hosts. The hotel has been selected and reservations can be made. Tentative events include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, and a car museum. For more details, including hotel reservation information, visit the events page of the website at desoto.org/events
Just reserved my room yesterday, looking forward to the convention!
See you there! Only a little over 5 months to go!
Hey, this is Nancy Dailey and fingers are still crossed that my 49 DeSoto will be making the trip to the convention. Upholstery job took almost a year, then car had transmission issues. Hoping it'll be running smooth for the convention. If it's ready, it will be like Christmas for me. And if it makes it, there will be some of my family members attending too.
Nancy
@nancydailey that sounds very promising! I hope you can get all the bugs worked out in the next month or so and be able to bring it! I am getting ready to tear the rear axle apart on my '59 to do new bearings and seals - hopefully I can get that all done and back together in short order as I plan to drive it to Akron.
The 2025 NDC convention is drawing near, only a little over 5 weeks away! I plan to arrive Tuesday afternoon. I like arriving a day early so I can get settled in and so I can spend all day on Welcome Wednesday watching the cars arrive and to help out where I can. If anyone else plans on arriving early on Tuesday, I will be around and ready to talk about all things DeSoto!
@nancydailey I have been following along with your ongoing restoration thread for your 1st series 1949 DeSoto. I know you have had a few setbacks and things have taken longer than expected, but it sounds like you are nearing the finish line. I really like the waterfall grille on 1946-48 & 1st series 1949 DeSotos, so I am looking forward to seeing your car in person!
We won't arrive till Wednesday evening (fingers crossed). We are excited and looking forward to the convention!
We will be arriving on Wednesday also. Wishing everyone a safe, breakdown free trip to Akron with their DeSoto.
My 60 has been to 3 car shows so far this year and all seems fine mechanically to make the trip to Akron. Our trip is 149 miles per Google Maps and should only take 2-1/2 hours.
All looks to be good to go for Akron. Clayton and I will arrive Wednesday- about a 4 hour drive staying off the interstates. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
