Hello Fellow1929ers,
Several months ago I ordered and received from Rock Autos a Raybestos MK1 15365(1) replacement kit, which I thought was the only choice I had for my vehicle.
However, on dismantling the master cylinder, I see that the original components do NOT match up with the kit sent.
I now see from Rocks present catalogue that there is an alternative Dorman TM3613 kit which visually has the correct components corresponding to my originals.
Before I order the Dorman kit, I see it states "bore" 1.25" and also mentions 1.125".
I am unclear what the term "bore" used in Rocks catalogue relates to, as the bore of the master cylinder into which the kit fits is 1 1/2". Does the catalogue really mean the external diameter of the piston in the kit is 1.25"?
One of the old original rubbers I have taken out states "Lockeed 1 1/4".
I welcome your help to decide if the Dorman part is the correct replacement. If so, I will need to reorder the correct part.
Also, whilst I am doing this I will replace the front two hoses to the wheel slave cylinders. Does anyone know the correct length of these as the right front seems long at 17.5"?
Many thanks for your time and help in this.
Regards to all. Peter (in the UK)
