I agree with Glenn, who agrees with Rosemary, who agrees with...............

I think more exposure to the cars has a huge impact. Also I'd like to see a culture emerging where (especially kids) get an opportunity to get in the car, or get a ride; somehow making the cars more accessible.

Hagerty Insurance has a program that encourages youth involvement; one of my former students from McPherson College has the title "Youth Advocacy Coordinator" with Hagerty. I bet she could bounce some ideas for us.

I remember an incident at a car show where I was visiting with an owner, and while we were talking, a kid opened the passenger door, sat down in the seat, and closed the door. As a restorer, I completely understand the necessary protection that a proud owner wants to provide for their investment, but the level of verbal abuse and profanity that came out of that owner's mouth about climbing into his car was such that I'm sure that kid will never be interested in a DeSoto......

Maybe if we're more welcoming, people will gain some of the same affection that we have for our beloved cars....

It's supposed to be fun!
