Got these 2 emails today from a guy:
1) Hello - I was picking up a car for my son this weekend and the fellow asked me if I knew anyone who wanted a 1957 Desoto sedan project car. It's apart but apparently all there, metal work is done, has the original 341 Hemi plus a spare. He wants $2,500. I told him I would ask around, (and in the process of looking for info on them came across your site). Perhaps you know someone who may want it.
and
2) Yes, too bad it wasn't a convertible... Anyway no problem - he was a real nice guy, and spent half his day to help with the car I picked up from his son. Would be nice to find a home for this Desoto for him. Apparently he has had it for years and years in the garage and I think has realized he's not going to finish it. He spoke about welding in floor panels which he had rolled the creases into to make it look like a factory stamping. He may have even had the frame blasted and coated - the bit I could see looked very clean. I'm not sure if the body may not be off the frame and just sitting on it. He said all the "hard work" is done, whatever that may be.
Needs assembly and finishing - project for sure. If it's a BC car originally, then the rust is likely minimal.
British Columbia is not in my backyard, and I don't need another project. If interested, PM me and I'll put you in contact with the guy who "discovered" this car. I don't have any pics or any more information. desoto@pathway.net
