Is this '55 - '56 steering wheel center cap a '56 Adventurer only item? If I recall correctly the Adventurer wheel center featured silver anodized trim while all other models the center of this cap was gold. What say ye '56 Adventurer experts?

It is exactly the same as in my '56 Fireflite Sportsman.
Have a nice day

As far as I know, there was only one horn ring center for the '55/56 deluxe steering wheel. What you picture is the same as what is in Mr. Blackwell's car. The one you show weird that his has an aluminum-like center.
If you find the popular picture of the advertisement for the hiway hifi record player, you can tell that the horn ring center, and the medallian on the dash panel above the radio was quite shiny and brass colored.
The gold/silver anodizing was reversed on the Adventurer grille mesh and "V" as compared to the other models. Adventurer grille mesh was gold and the "V" was silver. Fireflites and 'Domes were the other way around.
It's supposed to be fun!
