Some of you have been following the story of Cleo, my late mothers 1949 Desoto Convertible that I acquired 28 months ago after it sat in a collection since she sold it in 1970.

Yesterday for the first time in 40 years the car moved back 20 feet out of my San Francisco garage under it own power.

I was going to take it on its maiden voyage around the block today, which would have been Cleo's 97th birthday. Alas, it is raining here in San Francisco after a weeks of warm no-fog weather.

I still have a bunch of little items to do, like cotter pins on the rear axle shafts and of course the interior and top need to be put in.

I hope in a few more weeks to be able to drive the thing around and put some miles on it and shakedown the inevitable issues after doing a frame off restoration.

I want to thank each and every one of you that has provided help and support to get the car to this point in time.
