Listed on Ebay is a 60 DeSoto Fireflight 4dr.sedan being passed off as a an Adventurer 4dr. Hardtop. The total description is a joke. It raves about the 383 engine and most likely it is a 361. I despise false advertisement. Link to ad http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1960-Des ... 23274f0dc1
I sent the seller a message concerning the errors in his auction on the day it began. Received no reply and no corrections have been made. This leads me to believe the seller is a rip off artist. Mac
Ron: On his Ebay listing, noted on the right hand side, is 'Seller Info', under this is a 'REPORT ITEM' click-on. Here you could report this rascal directly to Ebay.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Despite the many inaccuracies in the ebay listing, this looks like a very nice Fireflight sedan. I love how the tail fins start at the center of the front doors! Do any of you see any serious defects when looking at the pictures of the car? I wish there were some pictures of the undercarriage......
Was a 383 option available in a 1960 Fireflight?

The standard engine on a 60 Fireflite was the 361 with a 2 bbl. The standard engine for the Adventurer was a 383 with a 2 bbl. An option on both lines was the 383 with a 4 bbl. The optional 383 cross ram manifold with dual 4 bbl was available only on the Adventurer model.

I don`t want to be rude but it is just annoying to see that people here on NDC forum claim the the car not being Adventurer but FireFLIGHT???

While the description may be inaccurate, I doubt that fraud is the intention in this case. Since '60 DeSoto production was about evenly split between Fireflite and Adventurer models, and there isn't much difference between the 2. I'd be much more concerned about fraud on the '56-'59 models where Adventurers were high performance 2 door hardtops and convertibles (57-59) and production was very limited.
Have a nice day
