Hello every one. im new to the board but not to new to desotos. My first car was a 55 firedome sportsman 2dr ht, and now i just decided to pull my 57 firedome 2dr ht out of the corner it has been in for about 19 years now and i want to get it ready to drive again this spring. I was hoping that some one had a patters to get prebent stainless brake lines for the car. No such luck. So that brings me to my question i did the brakes when i was a kid with alot of straight tube and now want to do it right. Im going to order a roll or stainless and bend some up but befor i do that i need to know if the lines were 3/16 or 1/4 lines. Any help would be great so i can order up the stainless. thanks Rocky

Rocky,

These guys would appear to offer a preformed brake line kit:

Can probably go to Classic Tube as well. I bent up my own lines for my 1957's, but don't remember the size well enough to tell you without looking at them.

BTW, I don't have you listed in my 1957 DeSoto database. If you don't mind, contact me directly at desoto@pathway.net and I'd like some background on you and your car, please, like where you are, particulars about the car, etc. I can help with most anything 1957-related, and can look up this brake line issue if no one knows the answer off the top of their heads...
