I had the pleasure of seeing this car in person on the weekend if anyone has questions. The owner let me inspect everything and it ran well...I could see the engine number, driver's door pillar tag numbner, and partial cowl tag numbers (cowl tag was low in driver's side of engine bay, behind a lot of wires and hoses). Great car with an honest write up by the seller on Ebay. Comes with 5 spoked wheels and 6 gold wheel centers. The steering wheel clock might work with more frequent use of the car, and it seemed to have the floor control for radio. Owner has used lead additive and fuel stabilizers, auto-convertible top worked very well and the top is in great shape.
Wish I could have taken it home with me.
Winning bid was $56,600. In today's environment of >$100k live auction "sales", this would appear to be a bargain especially based on Rosemary's on-site inspection.

I must admit that I was a bit surprised that the car did not command a higher price, but the seller is quite pleased with the final amount. The car found a good home and I very much doubt we will be seeing it up for resale; although one never knows these days...it's on its way to Norway. I'm no expert, but from what I've learned about DeSotos I think that if I had the cash laying around I would have been very happy to have obtained the car for the selling price. The owner had bought the Pace Car when it was nine years old, PLUS four other cars for a total of $650.00, so he made a nice profit. He was a very pleasant older fella, so I'm happy for him. At least I got to play with the car for a few hours...ah...so close...
