Looks like a nice, solid car. Price a bit too high, but...20,000 miles??? Even more remarkable is that this has to be one of very, very few Fireflite convertibles built with standard transmission.
Very nice but the steering wheel looks nothing like the one in my '55 Firedome, did the Fireflights have a different steering wheel design?
Greg,
'55's and '56's with standard transmissions used a carryover steering wheel from the early '50's. I believe it is a '53/'54 wheel but not sure. The standard steering wheel with Powerfilte in '55 and '56 was a rubber steering wheel that is another rarely seen steering wheel these days. It seems most '55's and '56's were equipped with Powerflite automatic and plastic steering wheel.
All this makes the standard trans on this Fireflite convertible all the more rare. Certainly the first '55 Fireflite convertible I've ever seen with standard transmission.
