Anyone have some useful radiator hose numbers for a '55 Firedome?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

Some of these may no longer be current but a good parts store may be able to cross them to a current number.

Dayco Bypass Hose - Molded CH158
Gates Bypass Hose - Molded 20563
Gates Upper radiator hose (molded) CH247
Gates Upper radiator hose (molded) 20908
NAPA Bypass Hose - Molded 7379
NAPA Upper radiator hose (molded) NBH7635 Modification required
20046 Gates Lower radiator hose (molded)

Here's a link to a Gates hose that appears to be usable for the upper hose with some trimming: https://www.amazon.com/Gates-22698-Uppe ... B000C2WDZQ

If you find that any of these will work or you find some new numbers, please respond and update us so we can have some replacements on the shelf. Thanks.

Mark

Thanks Mark:

I will try these hoses. About ten or fifteen years ago, Wild Bill had a parts interchange page for 55 and 56 desotos which may be helpful to some folks. I think I was the source for the hose numbers, which worked, but weren't perfect fits.

Steve,

Please provide some feedback if you find a current p/n hose that works. Thanks.

So I tried a few different hoses and ended up with Dayco C70287 for both top and bottom. As close to perfect fit as I've seen. This is on a 55 Firedome without A/C. May fit others. The pictures show a dry fit to try 'em out but all together now and very satisfied. Good news, about $8 per hose at Advance. Interestingly, the hoses had Carquest labels.

Have a nice day
Steve

Steve,

Thanks for the pics and feedback. At that price it's worth having a couple spares.

Carquest owns Advance Auto. Just FYI.

To be completely accurate, the other way around or so it appears:

Advance Auto Parts Inc. will become the largest auto-parts retailer in North America with a $2.04 billion cash deal to buy Carquest Auto Parts chain parent company General Parts International Inc. The combined company will have annual sales of $9.2 billion, pushing it just past Memphis, Tenn.-based AutoZone Inc.Oct 16, 2013

FYI...I checked Rock Auto's online catalog for this hose. They have it available as well. When I clicked the "info" button it showed the OEM p/n cross. The two early to mid '50's MoPar p/n's cross to '51 - '54 V-8 Chrysler upper hose. Now we know why this hose is a very close fit. Should work for '52- '54 DeSoto Firedomes as well.
