Is there supposed to be a gasket between the carburetor and the air cleaner on a 55 Firedome?
Thanks
Steve
I put one on my 53 and I think it's worth it. I found a couple on eBay. The ones I cut from cork weren't rugged enough.

Hola Steve
I have looked at The S-11/ C-45, C-45, C-47 and every MoPar Parts Book that I have between the years shown to 1979. They all have a Gasket between The Air Cleaner Housing and The Carburetor.
Nuthin is mentioned about The Model or Number of Doors or Division.
If you know your Carburetor "Neck Diameter" --- this is an item that can be found at any Common Auto Parts Store.

Steve,
Yes, there is supposed to be a gasket based on my originally low mileage '55 Firedome and the parts book. As I recall the gasket is somewhat conical in shape so a cork cut gasket may not work. My list of NOS parts in my stash indicates I have some NOS extra gaskets and would be happy to provide one to you. Do you ever pass through Louisville when traveling the Commonwealth?
Mark
Thanks guys.
I may have one or I can cut one. I
I don't up to the 'ville very often but I appreciate the offer.
Have a nice day
Steve
