My dad is looking to replace the fuel pump on his 1959 DeSoto (383). He is getting some mixed opinions as to when exactly they switched styles (glass bowl vs. no glass bowl). He is looking to get the correct style and the switch over appears to be somewhere in 1958-1959. Does anyone know definitively which is right for a 361/383 wedge? The car has a March 1959 build date and was Detroit built if that matters at all.
Hiya, your best bet is to email Alan Ralston...he will know the answer.
We have already contacted Alan Ralston, as well as the 1958 technical adviser, Tim Fagan. We are thinking 1959 was a switch over year, but we are not positive.
