Hi All -
I looked at a 1955 Desoto Fireflite today. Can someone tell me what a trim code of 752 translates to ?
Thanks,
Ron
Ron,
752 is rose and ivory leather. It's the optional all leather upholstery. Rose is the color that matches well with Emberglow, the peach toned popular '55 color.
Mark
Thanks Mark.
So when a 55 Fireflite came with the optional all-leather interior, did the door panels co-ordinate with that, or did they have the bird fabric like the conventional fabric-and-leather interior ?
Ron
Ron,
Not certain as the color and trim books don't get that specific. However, the '55 DeSoto brochure would appear to indicate that Fireflites with fabric interior had fabric on the door panels and those with leather (the convertible is shown in the catalog) had matching vinyl or leather on the doors. Many a restorer has erred by going exclusively by the sales catalog for reference, but in this case it may be the best info we have. Here is a web link to the catalog:

Was there a Ross Roy Data Book for Desoto in '55 ? I have a Ross Roy for my 58 Plymouth and 59 Dodge. Very helpful in figuring out what was right for my cars.
Ron
Ron,
Yes, there was a data book and I have one as well as a color and upholstery album. However, some trim items like the headliner, door side panels, package shelf, etc., are not well defined if mentioned at all. The buyer could choose his colors and upholstery - with limits - but the rest of those items were determined by the factory to complement the paint color and upholstery.
