Bob,
Did you check with Barrett to see if this item is in the Club Library?
Mark
Bob,
I believe that you were referring to our 1940 Tech Advisor, Jay Rounds. The Buckeye chapter newsletter has photos of his "Sportsman" sedan.
You may want to check with Joe Moss, 1941 Tech Advisor that supplied the 1941 Sportsman brochure pages for the "Sportsman" article in the November/December 2012 issue of "DeSoto Adventures". According to the information that he supplied, the "Sportsman" option came out in March, 1941, but it would appear that it was limited to the club coupe.
The Standard Catalog of Chrysler does list a "Two-Tone Exterior Finish Sportsman Option" for the 1940 4 door sedan, but provided no other information. The '41 included a special steering wheel and two-tone instrument panel along with full carpeting and leather trimmed upholstery.
