I recently purchased a 1934 DeSoto Airflow. The VIN number is 5071888. Can someone tell me the birthday of the car?

I strongly recommend joining the Airflow Club if you haven't already. They are a very knowledgeable and helpful group of people and like to help fellow Airflow owners.

Kim,

Congrats on your recent purchase. I hope you'll post some photos of your '34 De Soto Airflow when you have a chance.

As for determining your car's birthday, you may want to contact our club's 1934 tech advisor, Chuck Cochran. (The list of tech advisors can be found on our Resources page to the left.) Also, you may want to try Dennis Pitchford and/or Robert Schofield since they are also Airflow advisors, but for 1935 and 1936.

Good luck, and please let us know what you find out.

Kim,

To Bill's point, Chuck Cochran would be a good person to contact. He is very knowledgeable on Airflows having owned quite a few over the years. If Chuck does not know the answer he will know how to get it for you.

Mark
