My dad passed away back in January. He owned a 1929 and a 1961 Desoto. I'd like to sell them both.
What are some good resources for determining the values of these cars so I can set a fair asking price?
Thanks in advance,
Ron Brinker
Hi Ron,
Sorry to hear about your dad. A few resources to help you get on track:
1. Hagerty offers a free valuation tool online that you can access at https://www.hagerty.com/valuation-tools/desoto and that should at least do the '61.
2. Old Cars Price Guide also offers values for these cars. You can find an older free copy from 2020 of that here: http://media2.fwpublications.com.s3.amazonaws.com/OCG/MARCH-APRIL2020PG.pdf&source=gmail&ust=1654229775381000&usg=AOvVaw2ntg6nXHE28KNhmbdewHo 0"> http://media2.fwpublications.com.s3.amazonaws.com/OCG/MARCH-APRIL2020PG.pdf otherwise new copies can be purchased online.
3. Call the 1929 and 1961 technical advisors (listed in every NDC magazine) for their input. As experts in those particular years, they should be able to help estimate the value of the car.
4. There were actually a number of 1929's for sale in the last issue or two and in the "leads" section as well of the NDC magazine. You might use these as comparisons, adjusting for model, body style, and condition of course.
Thanks so much for the guidance!
