Hi All,

I'm putting my old high school car (graduated in 1984 😎 ) back on the road.  I've found some trim that had been missing but I don't know what clips I need to reinstall.

One of the new pieces had a clip like an ash leaf with a wire sticking out from it.  The bold is on one end.  This was from the upper, wider trim.

The lower smaller trim has no clip to use for a reference.

I can't find any site online other than eBay that's showing them, and the eBay search is horrible, every part fits every car ever made.  eye role  Anyone know what I need and where I can find them?

thanks!

marlon

Try an autobody supply store they should be able to help you get the clips you require. Hope this helps

Sometimes the parts book shows an exploded diagram that shows some of these parts and I know there is a section specifically for clips if you can match up which one goes with that trim.

I know my local Napa carries some basic clips in-store and have also heard many people recommend a company called Restoration Specialties for trim clips.

Also, your car sounds like a great story! If you want, send me a few photos and an article on your car. I can run it as a "work in progress" in the magazine!

@TimBowers do you know what clip needs to go on this trim?

There is a place in Windber, PA, Restoration Specialties, that carries a lot of different clips. Their website is   www.restorationspecialties.com

I have used them to obtain clips for my 60 Adventurer restoration and they has virtually everything that I needed.

Hiya David,  I'm working on this.  It'll be a bit but I'll get something to you.

Thanks Regis,  I called them but without a sample of what I need I'm pretty well SOL.  My chrome and the clips have been missing since the early 80s.  I've got no idea what clips are needed.

So I'll ask again, does anyone know what clips are used for the exterior belt line chrome?  There are several different sized holes so I don't think the holes alone will help.

How about a parts manual?  Anyone able to look up the original part numbers or grab pics?

thanks,

marlon

@marlonschafer I see in the roster that your car is a 4-door sedan. From these images from the factory parts books, can you specify which belt molding piece you are referring to?
