I have -59 Firesweep Explorer what I do restore. Car has been done mild custom years ago. Door handels has been shaved. I would need couple measurement for back door so i can find right place for handle and restore it back to orginal.
@MikaHatanpaa I have some loose '59 wagon doors here that I can get you some measurements from. The only problem is that we just got a couple feet of snow this week, followed by highs around zero (Fahrenheit) for a few days. When the weather gets more favorable, I'll grab some photos and measurements.
I was also thinking that if you remove the paint and primer, it might be possible that the outline still shows from the metal or filler work done when they were eliminated. Just another idea that might make it easy to add them back in.
@davidfrank Thank you very mutch! That will help my restoration work so mutch. On Front doors I did find old line. Unfortunately rear door handles area has been cutted out further than handle edge line.
when ever is a good time for you.
i have lots of other areas to do and they are more clear.
Thanks again!
@mikahatanpaa I finally got outside today and got those measurements. I hope this is what you need.
This is just what I need!
Thank you so mutch!
Do you happen to have extra trims? I’m missing right front fender ones. I’m intetested in good door and rear fender ones too.
@mikahatanpaa if you are referring to the sweep trim specifically, I believe I should have most of that trim. It might take me some time to sort through what I have and I am also traveling this week, so it will be next week at the soonest before I start looking. When you say "good door and rear fender ones too", are those also for the right-hand (passenger) side? Basically, it sounds like you need all the sweep trim for the right-hand side?
@davidfrank Sorry, I was meaning passenger side front fender mouldings i’m missing. And those I need most.
But others i’m interest of too if you like to sell set. ( becourse some of mine are having dents)
@mikahatanpaa , just to clarify, are you referring to the color sweep trim or the piece that sits on top of the fender that you especially need?
- @davidfrank Yes I need Color sweep trims.
@mikahatanpaa I will do my best to look next week when I am back home or the week after, depending on time and weather.
Thank you very mutch!
@mikahatanpaa I was able to look through some of my trim yesterday. At this time, I can confidently say that I have every piece of passenger sweep trim from the rear up to the front door for your wagon. I believe I do also have the fender pieces, but they are in a different spot. I will continue looking and gathering parts up and should be able to get you some photos and prices within the next week or two.
@davidfrank That sounds great. Thank you.
@mikahatanpaa I have come up with every piece you need for the passenger side of your wagon except for the lower front fender trim. I do have longer ones for the Firedome/Fireflite/Adventurer that I believe could be trimmed down (the front edge is just cut since it goes under the front piece). Do you have an email address that I can use to correspond with and send photos to? You can email me at fireflite56@gmail.com if you'd like.
